Rod Goodall

After touring the world with the renowned Footsbarn for 12 years, Rod was invited to become an integral part of the fledgeling Macnas. From 1987, Rod oversaw every aspect of performance, acting, directing, training and production for many of Macnas’s award winning shows:­ TáinSweenyBalor.

In 1996 Rod rejoined Footsbarn playing the title role in Moliére’s Don Juan, Polixenes in The Winter’s Tale and the Major in The Government Inspector.

Since his return to Galway, he has produced his solo show An Evening with Samuel Johnson, played Michael in Someone to Watch Over Me for Townhall Theatre, David Hare in Via Dolorosa for Decadent, Captain Lancey in Translation for Ouroborus, Ralph Coughlin in Burn the Bad Lamp by Kevin Barry, Teddy in Brian Friel’s Faith Healer for Townhall Theatre. Rod has also played Martin Michael in Saínt for Fibin, The Judge in Maum for An Taibhdhearc.

Rod has also directed and devised numerous show and spectacles for Galway Youth Theatre and Fíbín.
